Giving Back to the Community

The Loma Prieta Club has a long history of providing needed support to our mountain community. All of our members participate in hosting our annual signature picnic, as well as other programs, raising funds that are then granted to neighborhood schools and organizations for beneficial projects. The club also offers scholarships each year to deserving local students.
Our most recent donations went to:     

  • Local schools: a hydration station for the middle school, garden equipment and classroom supplies for the elementary school, shade tarps for the preschool.
  • Local community: handheld radios for the local fire department, assistance to Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
  • Local churches: funds to help the needy within their sphere of influence.
  • Local youth: four college scholarships to high school seniors and a volunteer recognition award to a middle school graduate.
The Loma Prieta Club members also provide ongoing donations and financial assistance to the Skyland Food Pantry, which supports hundreds of area residents. Loma Prieta Club Student Scholarships
Each year, the club provides outstanding student scholars with a scholarship toward their college or professional school studies.
